What is it?

Server Hosting offers ALBA users dedicated servers to run general purpose software and field-specific applications for calculations, engineering, scientific software, control system…
Those servers are kept in the Computing Datacenter in a secured environment. We  take care of all administration tasks. We can also propose you Virtual Machines which allow more flexibility in increasing resources (RAM, CPU power) and offer cloning capabilities.

Main features:

• Secured data center with restricted access, controlled temperature and redundant UPS power supply.

• Server monitoring with Nagios for alerts, cacti for graphing and out-of-band management (IPMI and remote console).

• Automated backups and long-term archiving to tape.

• OS installation, upgrades, maintenance and support: openSUSE Linux in general, Windows Server 2003 or SuSE Linux Enterprise Server on request.

• Access to the central data storage
