What is it?

E-Mail is the electronic mail service for CELLS employees to exchange digital messages across the Internet 24x7.

How to configure my e-mail client

How to configure my address book

Main features:

  • Client access using MS Outlook, Thunderbird, Evolution , Kmail, Pine, Mutt, etc. You can use them at CELLS offices, or remotely, without the need of modifying their configuration.
  • Mailing lists. Anybody authorized can create a new list or subscribe to existing lists. You can check the lists currently active at Mailing lists directory (internal access only).
  • Virus scan. Your messages are scanned with antivirus software that prevents, detects, and removes malware, including computer viruses, worms, and Trojan horses as well as adware, spyware, and other forms of malware. If a virus is detected, the message is quarantined and a warning message sent to the receiver. You may contact Helpdesk to recover the damaged file.
  • Anti-spam. A spam filter assists you in blocking unwanted messages and allowing wanted messages to get through. Our spam filter uses three techniques:
  1. Greylisting. If the sender of an incoming message is not in the whitelist or blacklist, for example, when someone sends you a message for the first time, the incoming message will temporarily be rejected. If the mail is legitimate, the originating server, if properly configured, will, after a delay, try again and the email will be accepted. If the mail is from a spam sender, sending to many thousands of email addresses, it will probably not be retried. A user can get the list of greylisted emails on request.
  2. Internal and external third party whitelists and blacklists of senders, keywords and file checksums to look for in e-mails. E-mail addresses, domains or IP address in the whitelist will always be allowed. Those in the blacklist will be moved automatically to the Junk E-mail folder with a warning message.
  • NEW!! - E-mail Filtering. You can create your own e-mail filters that will be directly executed on the e-mail server. You do not need to leave your e-mail client running in order to have your emails classified correctly on your IMAP folders. It can be configured using the webmail https://web-mail.cells.es interface.
